What is Country Data Quality?
Country Data Quality in the Country Risk reports shows our confidence in the coverage and reliability of the data available for each country. This is shown alongside a Coverage statement, so you can quickly understand how complete and trustworthy the data is for each risk area.
How is Data Quality measured?
Data Quality is determined by the proportion of relevant indicators available for each country within the risk model. Only countries with enough up-to-date and reliable data are included in the rankings. If a country has less than 30% of indicators available, it is marked as “Not Available,” and no risk score is shown.
What do the Data Quality values mean?
Each country is assigned one of five Data Quality categories, each with a corresponding Coverage statement:
Data Quality Value | Coverage Statement |
Very Good | Very Good Coverage |
Good | Good Coverage |
Medium | Moderate Coverage |
Poor | Limited Coverage |
Very Poor | Very Limited Coverage |
- Very Good / Very Good Coverage: Nearly all relevant indicators are available, giving a high level of confidence in the risk assessment.
- Good / Good Coverage: Most indicators are available, providing a reliable basis for the risk score.
- Medium / Moderate Coverage: A moderate number of indicators are available. The risk score is still meaningful, but some data may be missing.
- Poor / Limited Coverage: Only a limited set of indicators is available. The risk score should be interpreted with caution.
- Very Poor / Very Limited Coverage: Very few indicators are available. The risk score is highly uncertain and should be used with care.
- Not Available: Less than 30% of indicators are available. No risk score is shown for this country.
Where can I see Data Quality in the reports?
Each Country Risk report displays the Data Quality value and Coverage statement for every risk area (AML, ESG, Supply Chain, Sovereign). This information appears in the summary and in the detailed risk sections, helping you quickly assess the reliability of the data behind each score.
Why does Data Quality matter?
High Data Quality means you can trust the risk scores and make informed decisions. Lower Data Quality means there may be gaps in the data, so extra caution is advised when interpreting the results.
